ABOUT US
The Nigerian Cultural Association (NCA) is a non-political, non-sectarian, cultural and educational
organization. We serve the Buffalo and Western New York community.  We also organize and participate in
cultural and family activities and festivals. Our purpose is the following:

  •      The promotion of friendship and understanding between the peoples of Nigeria and the United
States  of America through personal contact and cultural exchange.

  •      To promote and develop public knowledge and information about these countries.

  •      To foster and develop an awareness of Nigerian culture and identity to younger generation
of Americans of Nigerian extraction.

  •      To provide the Nigerian people arriving in this country with information about the culture, customs
and life in the United States of America to enable them to integrate into the community.

  •      To provide a cultural environment that encourages: concerts, exhibitions, films, lectures, dances,
social evenings, outings etc.

  •      Address the adverse needs of its members and work towards fulfilling these needs with
proper planning, consultation and execution, and

  •      Create a feeling of brotherhood and sisterhood among its members and other people                 
of Nigerian extraction in the area.

The Nigerian Cultural Association General Meeting is scheduled for every last Saturday of every month. The meeting starts at 7:00pm, and scheduled to end at 9:00pm, the venue for the meeting is 64 Springville Street, Amherst, NY at Mr. & Mrs Owunwanne's Residence. The NCA annual family picnic is scheduled for Saturady, August 13th, 2011. The Association will be participating in the Juneteenth Festival, on 18th and 19th of June 2011.
